Luke Turner set for Aberdeen exit as Nottingham Forest target talented Irishman on free transfer

Aberdeen defender Luke Turner is attracting interest from Premier League promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest.

The teenage defender is yet to make his Dons debut but has impressed on loan at Northern Irish side Cliftonville this season.

He was named the country's young player of the season earlier this week but is out of contract in the summer and is not expected to stay.

The 19-year-old Irishman's form has put him on Forest's radar and he has been offered a trial.

Turner has not even featured under current Aberdeen manager Jim Goodwin but has been told he is free to move on when his current Pittodrie contract expires at the end of the season.

Forest would be looking at Turner for their under-23 squad in the first instance.

They signed Scotland under-21 keeper Nicky Hogarth when he was released by Rangers last summer.

Forest play Sheffield United in the playoff semi-final hoping to advance to Wembley.

There they would face either Luton or Huddersfield in a bid to return to the Premier League for the first time since 1999.
