During the Boston Celtics 119-110 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday (Jan. 22) Jaylen Brown went viral for a crossover on Luka Doncic. The move sent the MVP candidate to the floor as he lost his footing when trying to defend the move, allowing Brown to drive to the rim and get an easy finish.
Clips of the crossover have since gone viral across multiple social media channels over the last few days. Following the game, Doncic addressed the media, where he credited Brown for his display of strength and skill. Doncic also noted that the Celtics star’s move was ‘nice.’
“I can’t lie,” Dončić said. “That was really nice. I was on the floor praying he wouldn’t make it, but he made it. So it was a whole highlight.”
Brown has been emerging as a genuine offensive force this season. He has adapted to his new role of being a featured scorer and has found ways to lean into the additional gravity he carries to begin displaying a new level of playmaking production. Furthermore, Brown is also making his presence felt on the defensive end, locking down opposing wings and chipping in with multiple blocked shots.

The Celtics will likely quickly move on from their win over Dallas. The focus is on building toward being a championship team, and that means having a next-game-up mentality.
Still, Brown’s highlight will likely remain in circulation for the rest of the season, as it’s not every day one of the best players in the world suffers such a disastrous defensive possession.
