Former Liverpool star Luis Suarez has congratulated his former club on winning the FA Cup.
Suarez, who now plies his trade for Atletico Madrid, sent his congratulations to the Reds on an Instagram story after they won their first FA Cup since 2006. Alisson saved from Mason Mount before Kostas Tsimikas scored the winning penalty for a 6-5 shootout victory for the Reds. The final had gone to penalties after an enthralling, but goalless first 120 minutes of the tie when neither team could break the deadlock.
Suarez, who was on the losing side in the 2012 FA Cup final when Chelsea beat Liverpool 2-1, scored 82 goals in 133 games between 2010-2014 at Anfield before his £65m move to Barcelona. Despite his controversial nature, and subsequent battles against the Reds, Suarez was delighted that Jurgen Klopp’s men emerged victorious at Wembley.

“Congratulations to @LiverpoolFC for winning the FA Cup! YNWA,” he posted on his story, accompanied by a clapping, strong arm and red emoji.
As a former Barcelona and current Atletico Madrid player, there is no doubt that the Reds will also have Suarez’s support when they take on Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Paris on May 28.
