Luis Suarez has revealed that he has been mentoring his Uruguayan strike partner Darwin Nunez in a bid to help him settle in at Liverpool.
Suarez, Nunez and former Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani will provide the South Americans with their goal threat at the World Cup. And former Kop star Suarez has admitted that he has been giving £85million Nunez advice about life at Liverpool following his arrival from Benfica in the summer.
Suarez, who left Anfield in bitter circumstances when he forced through a move to Barcelona in 2011, said: “Nunez is now playing for Liverpool like I knew he would.

“He has exploded - and I am sure there will be many goals and trophies for him there. I speak with him regularly. I want him to help him, for him to learn from my mistakes.”
Nunez has started to find his form under Jurgen Klopp after a tough start to his time on Merseyside. Now he gets a chance to make a mark on the world stage. Uruguay face South Korea, Portugal and Ghana in the group stages.
It will be the final tournament for 30-something stalwarts Suarez, Cavani and Diego Godin. And the striker who now earns his living back home with Nacional is dreaming about meeting Lionel Messi ’s Argentina in the final.
Suarez said: “You always want to do well at a World Cup - but for many of us we are realistic and know this will probably be our final appearances in the competition.
“Myself, Cavani, Godin, this will be our last time and we want to make it count. To play in four World Cups is a dream - but we hope this will be the most special one yet.
“It is always hard to talk about favourites - but of course it is our dream to reach the final and I think South American teams will be strong in the tournament, There is Brazil, of course, but Argentina is very strong as well.
“Since my first day at Barcelona, I had a special relationship with Leo and it would be a dream to face my good friend in the final.”
