Luis Palma Celtic transfer situation addressed as winger linked with move to MLS

Brendan Rodgers says there is nothing to report on the future of Celtic winger Luis Palma, after the Honduran was reported to be attracting interest from clubs in the MLS.

Palma has fallen out of favour this season, with the form of the likes of Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kuhn keeping him out of the side, while James Forrest and Yang Hyun-jun are even seemingly ahead of him for a place among the substitutes.

Rodgers says there is no issue with Palma, who continues to work hard behind the scenes in training. And while he was unaware of the potential for a move away from the club being in the pipeline, the Celtic manager expressed sympathy for Palma's position.

"I haven't seen anything on that," Rodgers said.

"But there's nothing really to comment on it.

"Luis hasn't played a great deal of late. He's still a part of the squad. There's nothing else more.

"He's a good guy. It's been difficult for him. Players have come into his position where he's played and done really well. If you look at the goal return of Daizen Maeda this year, the pressing, all that side of it.

"And then when he was out for a few weeks injured, Yang comes in and does really, really well.

"But Luis is working hard every day. He's a good guy. He's well liked within the squad. But of course, I can only pick a certain amount of players.

"But he will continue to work. And may get the opportunity as we go along."
