Luis Diaz has told his Liverpool teammates they have "no margin for error" in their quest for the quadruple.
The Reds have already claimed one trophy in the form of the Carabao Cup but are aiming to land three more before the season ends, which would be a unique achievement in English football. Diaz arrived in January and has provided more stardust to an already impressive outfit.
Diaz signed from Porto and has made an immediate impact as Liverpool aim to chase down Manchester City at the summit. The champions have a one-point lead in the Premier League as they look to defend their title whilst the Reds also have an FA Cup final with Chelsea to prepare for. A second Champions League in four seasons could also be captured but the Colombian has made it clear to his colleagues that they must win every game.
He told the club's website : “We know that we’re pretty much obliged to win every game between now and the end of the season and we know there’s no margin of error for us. Each competition is different, each trophy is different and every game is different within those competitions, particularly in the Premier League. We’re treating every one like a final and we know what we’ve got to do.
“If and when the coaching staff need to call upon me, of course I’ll be ready and willing at all times, just like any other player that they decide to bring into their line-up. So, here’s hoping I can carry on in the same way, playing well and performing in the right manner so that things go well for the team. I’m here to help.”
Diaz scored Liverpool's opener as they beat Manchester United on Tuesday night, hitting four past their arch rivals. Their next assignment is a Merseyside derby at Anfield on Sunday before they take on Villarreal in the last four of the Champions League.
How many trophies will Liverpool win this term? Let us know in the comments
The Reds have won all but one of their last 12 Premier League outings, that one blip coming at City when they were held to a draw. Jurgen Klopp has repeatedly talked down the prospect of claiming all four trophies. He's said: “You can mention it how many times you want, it doesn't make it more likely."
Klopp has, during his tenure, claimed the Premier League, the Champions League and the Carabao Cup have all been claimed the once, whilst the FA Cup has remained elusive.
Diaz has said on his new boss: “The manager? Incredible! That’s a single word you can use for him from the short time we’ve spent working together. He’s a very humble, down-to-earth person, very calm. He tries to ensure all his players are happy, and for me that’s very important."
