Luigi Mangione is expected to plead guilty in federal court on Friday in connection with the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, potentially changing the course of one of the most closely watched US murder cases.

Mangione, 28, is accused of fatally shooting Thompson outside a Manhattan hotel in December 2024. He has been facing separate federal and New York state cases over the killing.
