Ludhiana: Man’s body found packed in a sack

LUDHIANA: Dismembered body of a man was found in a sack near Gehlewal village of Basti Jodhewal area on Thursday evening. Police said the man, whose identity is still unknown, had been murdered a few days back as his body had started decomposing.

The incident came to light when some passersby noticed foul smell and found a sack near a field on Kailash Road.

Soon after getting the information, additional deputy commissioner of police-1 Parminder Singh Heer, assistant commissioner of police-north Mukesh Kumar and SHO Jodhewal police station Inspector Gurmukh Singh Deol along with other cops reached the spot.

Inspector Gurmukh Singh said the deceased seemed to be in his mid-40s and his hands and feet were tied up. The body had started decomposing and it was apparent that he was killed a few days back.

The SHO said no ID proof was found from the site. Even the face of the man had decomposed. The police have kept the body in the mortuary of the Ludhiana civil hospital and are trying to identify the man. The police are also scanning the CCTV cameras installed near the area to find some clue about the victim and his killers.
