LUDHIANA: Allegedly humiliated by relatives of his ex-wife, a 30-year-old man committed suicide by consuming poison at Behlolpur village of Machhiwara on Tuesday. Before that, he recorded a video on his mobile phone and sent it to his brother.
The victim has been identified as Gurdeep Singh of Rosda village, Noorpur Bedi. He had gone to Machhiwara to see his 3-year-old son, who lives with his maternal grandparents. His ex-wife had gone to Canada two months ago.
A case has been registered on the statement of the victim’s father Jaswant Singh. He said that Gurdeep got married to Ranjit Kaur in 2018 and they had a son. The couple divorced one year ago but Gurdeep used to visit Ranjit’s house to meet his son.
