Lucy Mecklenburgh has admitted she is ‘really struggling’ during an honest Q&A with fans on Instagram.
The 31-year-old former The Only Way Is Essex star spilled the beans on life as a mum to Roman, three, and one-year-old Lilah, who she shares with actor Ryan Thomas.
And it turns out it’s just as hard for her as it is for any other mum, famous or not.
She was asked: “You make the mum/work/workout/living life balance look so easy! How?! I need tips!!”
In an answer the fan was perhaps not expecting, Lucy replied: “It’s not easy. I’m actually really struggling at the moment juggling everything.”
Giving her 1.7 million followers a dose of relatable realism, she continued: “We are all doing the best we can as mamas but I’m realising I need to squeeze in some more ‘Guilt free me time.’
“Also worry less about the messy house!! I always want the house tidy and with 2 young kids and work I feel like it’s impossible to have every room tidy at once ha.”
Last year, Lucy said in an exclusive chat with The Mirror that having being a mum-of-two was “absolute carnage”.
Opening up about her growing family with Ryan, who is also a dad to 13-year-old daughter Scarlett, she shared: "I was talking to Ryan about this, I was saying it's beautiful chaos.
"I love it, there are so many gorgeous moments I just want to bottle up, when they're cuddling and kissing and you're all chilled, watching a movie together but then there's absolute carnage as you can imagine.
"Toys flying everywhere, I'm having to guard Lilah from getting a dinosaur in her face."
Lucy had first child Roman in March 2020, just days before the world went into lockdown in the coronavirus pandemic.
But she says she actually found the transition being a mum-of-one to a mum-of-two easier than being a first time mum.
Giving a rare insight into her life with husband-to-be Ryan, Lucy added: "You're already getting less sleep and everything's a bit chaotic anyway, you're just adding to it.
"But I'm really enjoying it, I feel so lucky to have my little boy and little girl.
"They're so lovely together, Roman absolutely adores her. It's crazy, but good crazy."
Lucy and Ryan were due to get married in 2021 but ended up postponing their big day after discovering she was pregnant with Lilah.
But she doesn't mind waiting as she'd like to have both her children there on her wedding day.
The pair have yet to revealed exactly when they will tie the knot, but Lucy already looks to have got her pre-baby figure back, so is a secret summer wedding on the cards?
