Lucy Letby trial: Rigid wire may have caused 'extraordinary bleeding' before baby's death

The "inappropriate" use of a rigid wire or tube may have been caused “extraordinary bleeding” in a baby boy allegedly murdered by Lucy Letby, a court has heard.

The nurse is on trial accused of killing seven babies and trying to murder 10 others in 2015 and 2016.

Jurors at Manchester Crown Court heard one infant lost a quarter of his blood volume before he collapsed and died in the Countess of Chester Hospital’s neo-natal unit.
