Lucy Kennedy says her husband Richie is her ‘best friend’ as she gushed about the secret to their loving relationship after 23 years together.
The TV and radio presenter tied the knot with her longtime partner Richard Governey back in July 2008, with an intimate celebration in Italy.
Over two decades since they met, and 13 years since they said ‘I do’, the Living with Lucy star, who is often on the road filming her popular TV show said she feels lucky to have him to go home to.

“Rich is great. Long-suffering Rich. We are 23 years together, so he has been trying to dump me for 23 years,” the Dubliner, 46, joked.
“We are now married 13 years. I love him. He is brilliant. He is the Ying to my Yang. He is normal.
“He thinks I am completely bonkers, but he is the funniest person that I know.
“He cracks me up. He really is my best friend. I am very lucky,” she added, in an interview with RTE Guide.
The couple share three children, Jack, 12, Holly, 11 and five-year-old Jess, who just started primary school last month.
Lucy admitted it was ‘emotional’ seeing her youngest make the leap to big school as she opened up about how she feels becoming a mother is the best thing she has ever done.
The busy TV and radio host said: “Without a shadow of a doubt. I love it. I have ups and downs like everybody else. I worry about money. I worry about work sometimes, I worry about health.
“I worry about my parents… I have the same worries as everybody else, but I feel that children are a great leveller.
“No matter what happens, no matter how bad the news is, or the day is, once I know they are OK, I can cope. Once they are happy, so am I.”
Meanwhile the Classic Hits breakfast host is getting busy working on her other babies, her reality series ‘Living with Lucy’ on Virgin Media One,
and her brand new children’s book release, The Friendship Fairies Go to Sea.
The longtime host, who is also about to launch another new TV show, ‘Lucy Investigates’ admits she still pinches herself over her book success.
“When I hear that people buy the books, I am always kind of shocked and so grateful,” she said.
“It is such a lovely feeling.
“As much as I adore radio and TV, there is something about having your name in print. For me, I didn’t do well in my Leaving Cert, and then I repeated and didn’t didn’t do any better, so it’s a bit of a moment of, ‘Hey, you can still write a children’s book successfully.”
As for her new show episodes, Lucy recently revealed she could be set to spend a weekend with Katie Price in her mansion for her next series of Living With Lucy.
The hit show returns to our screens early next year and filming starts in three weeks’ time.
Lucy told us: “They’re confirming Katie Price. It looks like I could be living with her in November, but I don’t know who else is confirmed.”
