Lucy Bronze insists England are ready for ‘everything’ against Sweden in Euro 2022 semi-final

Lucy Bronze is expecting Sweden to come out “all guns blazing” in tomorrow’s Euro 2022 semi-final and raise their game against host nation England.

Sweden, who are the highest-ranked team at Euro 2022, have made steady progress so far but they have not lit up the tournament and needed a late goal to beat Belgium in the quarter-finals.

England, however, are expecting Sweden to raise their game for the semi-final at Bramall Lane, in the same way Spain did for their quarter-final.

The Lionesses found a way past Spain to reach the semi-finals, but required a late goal and extra-time to do so.

“I think Sweden probably haven’t looked their strongest but we all know that they’re the highest ranked team left,” said Brozne.

“It’s a team that we’ve come up against a lot in tournaments and I think anything can happen on the day.

“They didn’t probably play at their best against Belgium but they just showed what winning teams do and that’s find a way to win, find a way to score a goal and to get through.

“It’s like Spain, Spain hadn’t been at their best throughout the tournament, but they stepped on that pitch against us and it was one of the best performances of the tournament arguably with the ball.

“We know to expect everything, we’re expecting to have Sweden come out all guns blazing and have their best performance against us because they’ve got just as much to play for as we do.”
