The Northern Lights made a stunning appearance in the skies above Scotland last night - with some lucky skygazers treated to the amazing spectacle just over 20 miles away from Glasgow.
Some folk keen on catching sight of the Aurora Borealis hot-footed it from the city to Loch Lomond amid widespread alerts online about increased geomagnetic activity last night.
Online accounts such as Aurora Watch UK issued a 'possible Aurora' alert, while the Met Office also issued an alert yesterday evening to advise that it could potentially be spotted in the north of Scotland.

They tweeted: "Increased geomagnetic activity means that if you're in the north of Scotland and skies are clear, you may spot the #AuroraBorealis over the next few hours."
Those who made it to Loch Lomond were rewarded with the stunning sight of the Aurora illuminating the skies above the loch.
Glaswegian drone operator Gavin McCormick was among the lucky ones to spot the lights, sharing a stunning image on Instagram of the Aurora he took with his phone while looking over towards Ben Lomond from Duck Bay Marina.
To say we are jealous is an understatement.
It's certainly not the first time that the Aurora could be witnessed as far south as the wider Glasgow area. We reported how one photographer was able to capture the Northern Lights from his bedroom window in Bishopbriggs in January last year.
