Lucknow: Son of Swaroop Kumari Bakshi takes up broom to cleanse the system

LUCKNOW: I am physically disabled and extremely poor. I cannot make rounds of government departments to get a disability certificate required for availing government pension and other benefits," Munnawer Ali (87), a resident of Barawankala, shares his ordeal with Rajiv Bakshi, Aam Aadmi Party's candidate from Lucknow West, when he visits the area during election campaign.

"I will work to create a system in which not only certificates and services will be delivered to people at their doorstep, but they would also get quality healthcare in their mohalla," replies Bakshi, while explaining the model of AAP led Delhi government. He then turns towards other residents and says: "Basic necessities like bijli-sadak-pani, health and education are the people's right and if voted to power he would definitely help them in getting them."
