Lucknow: Man killed in road mishap in Alambagh

LUCKNOW: A 43-year-old morning walker was crushed to death after a speeding car hit him in main Alambagh market.

The victim, Naveen Dutt, used to work in a sweet shop and is survived by two sons and a daughter. After hitting Naveen, Himanshu, who was driving the car, also dashed his car against another car. He, too, suffered injuries and is recuperating at Lok Bandhu Hospital.

An FIR was lodged against Himanshu. He will be arrested once he is discharged.

Meanwhile, family members of Naveen staged a protest in Alambagh market by keeping his body on the road. The family demanded compensation and a government job. Following a massive traffic jam in Alambagh, Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia intervened and assured them of initiating action into the matter.
