Lucknow: Art, photography exhibitions on women power

LUCKNOW: With Navaratra celebrating the various roles of the mother goddess, art and photography exhibitions are also reflecting ‘Nari Shakti’ (women power).

The seven-day long art exhibition at Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Center, which began on April 5, is showcasing the concept of ‘Atma Shakti’ and ‘Nari Shakti’.

The exhibition is being co-ordinated by prominent artist-activist Girish Tiwari was curated by Sapna and Pratima.

On display are artworks by Lalit Kala Akademi general council member and artist from Indore Shubha Vaidya along with other Indore artists such as Sushma Jain, Vimmie Manoj, Nikita Kacholia and Anu Dixit. Shabnam Shah from Khandwa, Ishita Chaudhary from Nagpur, Gaytri Verma from Hoshiarpur and Bably Chaube, Satya Singh, Tripti Pahwa, Upasna Tripathi, Manisha Singh, Taijisi Mishra, Varsha Srivastava, Shagufta Khanam, Vinita Rathore, Pratima Singh and Sapna from Lucknow are others.

Also on till April 11 is a photography exhibition at State Museum in zoo on goddesses of the past on the theme ‘Matra Shakti’. It is part of Mission Shakti. It is a collection of the original structures present in the museum.
