When choosing a name for a newborn baby, it stands to reason many doting parents will select a moniker associated with luck and good fortune, wanting to give their little ones the most hopeful start possible. With this in mind, a list has been compiled of the most desired lucky names worldwide in 2022, providing plenty of inspiration for excited parents-to-be.
The list includes a range of names from all across the planet, with something to suit a wide variety of tastes, from traditional, elegant picks such as 'Victoria' or 'Beatrice', to more modern unisex choices like 'Lucky'. Some of the other monikers that made the cut are even more surprising.
Casino company Onlinecasinos.co.uk recently turned to names and places resources site Forebears.io to figure out which luck-associated names are most desired around the world, while psychic expert Inbaal Honigman advising on what such names mean for babies and their parents.
The most desired lucky baby boy name, and most popular lucky name overall, was found to be Rafael, with 3,160,411 Rafaels across the globe. In the Bible, Raphael is known to be the archangel of healing, with the name meaning 'God heals'.
According to Inbaal, "It's a wonderful name to pick for a life of healthy living, healthy relationships, and healthy decision-making. The feminine version is Rafaella"
Meanwhile, Victoria was found to be the most desirable lucky baby girl name of 2022, with a grand total of 2,626,923 Victorias found worldwide. Victoria was the name of the goddess of victory in Roman mythology, and means 'victory' in Latin.
Delving into the meaning of the regal name, Inbaal said: "Victoria is not subtle about its blessings. Sharing a name with the Roman Goddess of Victory, Victoria draws luck in the field of winning."
In third place was Lakshmi, with 2,570,558 people given the namesake of the Hindu goddess said to personify prosperity, fortune, and power.
Inbaal continued, "Lakshmi is a Goddess of abundance and good fortune. As Goddess of luck, sharing her name will inevitably bring luck. The name can be used both for baby boys and baby girls."
