For most artists with careers spanning more than four decades, success eventually becomes about preserving a legacy. The biggest hits remain on every concert setlist, audiences come expecting familiar songs, and recording new music can feel like an unnecessary gamble. Mexican super star Lucero knows that better than anyone.
The Mexican icon has spent more than 45 years at the top of Latin entertainment, becoming one of the rare performers to conquer music, television, and film without ever disappearing from the public eye. Dubbed "La Novia de América" by generations of fans, she has sold millions of records, starred in some of Mexico's most successful telenovelas, from Lazos de Amor and Alborada to Soy Tu Dueña, and built a parallel career as one of the leading female voices in mariachi music. Yet, instead of relying solely on the songs that made her famous, Lucero decided to do something she admits even surprised herself: record an album filled mostly with original ranchera songs.
