Australian golf pro Lucas Herbert has played in tours all over the world and is now a member of the LIV Golf League. Find out more regarding his life and career in the game via these facts.

LUCAS HERBERT FACTS

1. Lucas Herbert was born on December 5, 1995 in Bendigo, Australia. 

2. He started playing golf at the age of three and went on to play junior golf at Neangar Park Golf Club and Commonwealth Golf Club.

3. He represented Australia in the 2014 Eisenhower Trophy and finished with the joint-second-best individual score, three strokes behind Jon Rahm.

4. Herbert turned professional at the end of 2015 and began on the PGA Tour of Australasia.

5. In a varied career, the Australian has also played on the DP World Tour, the PGA Tour, and the LIV Golf League.

6. Herbert is a supporter of Aussie Rules side, Western Bulldogs, who play in Melbourne.

7. Herbert has won once on the PGA Tour, at the 2022 Bermuda Championship.

8. His hobbies include playing video games, listening to music and wine.

9. In January 2020, Herbert defeated Christiaan Bezuidenhout in a playoff to claim his first European Tour title, the Dubai Desert Classic. He won his second at the 2021 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, going wire-to-wire. His third was at the 2023 ISPS Handa Championship in Japan.

10. Herbert has a duck headcover, as well as a duck pin on his hat, in memory of his fellow countryman Jarrod Lyle, who sadly passed away in 2018.

11. In 2020, Herbert and his former caddie, John Rawlings, were involved in 'The Road Trip,' a European Tour feature where they drove from Renaissance Club to Wentworth. During the trip, Herbert hit a drive over the border, from Scotland into England.

12. The Australian is sponsored by TaylorMade and uses a full bag of their clubs.

13. His best finish at a Major was T13th at the 2022 PGA Championship.

14. Herbert joined the all-Australian Ripper GC in the LIV Golf League during January 2024. In his first season, Ripper won the overall team title after two earlier victories in Adelaide and Singapore.

15. Herbert's best finish during his debut season in the LIV Golf League was T6th - which he managed three times.

16. He has recorded five hole-in-ones throughout his career.

17. Herbert says his favorite golf course in the world is the Old Course at St Andrews.
