Lubo Moravcik in Aberdeen scouting report as Celtic icon makes giddy Patrik Myslovic prediction

Celtic hero Lubomir Moravcik reckons Aberdeen have landed a huge bargain by snapping up Slovakian countryman Patrik Myslovic. The Dons signed the Slovakian Under 21s midfielder this month on loan from Zilina where he captained the club and are awaiting a work permit.

And Hoops icon Moravcik, who spent four years at Celtic and won two leagues, two League Cups and a Scottish Cup, has handed Myslovic a glowing recommendation after his move to Scotland. Moravcik said: "First of all, he signed for an excellent club. After Celtic and Rangers, Aberdeen are the most popular.

"Also, it's the third largest city in Scotland and a lot of people go there to watch football. The club has a good background. When they recently played at home with Rangers they got a crowd of 18,000. People there are interested in football and it will be something new for Pat, since not too many fans watch Zilina's matches. It's a very good intermediate step for him. He will definitely enjoy football there.

"His quality will shine and he will have nothing to worry about. The difference will mainly be in the pace of the game, but he can adapt to that within one or two months. He has to be smart and quick with the ball. He must believe in himself. He has been given a big opportunity.

"He has to try to communicate with his Scottish teammates and go for a beer with the guys when they call you. Mind you, I still don't understand the Scots and I lived there for four years - when Scottish people were talking, I just smiled and pretended to understand them!"

And Moravcik, in an interview in his homeland, believes Myslovic will be appreciated by the fans, like he was. He said: "When he shows his skills, the Scots will take notice. They appreciate it and sense whether a player is going through the motions or taking it seriously.

"The Scottish league certainly has great quality and has produced a number of outstanding players. Look at Virgil van Dijk, for example, who is currently one of the best players in the world in his position. He was at Celtic. And many players in the English Premier League have passed through Scottish clubs such as Celtic, Rangers and others. It's nearby and the Scottish league is being watched by them, so it's definitely worth playing well at Aberdeen. Aberdeen didn't sign because his name is Patrik Myslovic - they have obviously scouted him for a long time. They know he has quality and he has to confirm it on the pitch."
