A devoted elderly couple died after they stepped into the path of oncoming car while walking arm in arm, an inquest heard.
John Mann, 91, and his wife Joan, 89, were struck by a car as they walked with "linking arms" to a local church near their home in Hindley Green, Wigan on October 18 last year.
Mr Mann - also known fondly by family as 'Jackie' - died from head and chest injuries three days after the crash, while Joan died from the same type of injuries on November 1, reports Manchester Evening News.
