'Loved' mum killed in dog attack will be 'missed forever'

A 'loved' mum who was killed in a dog attack will be "missed forever" by close friends.

Ann Dunn, 65, was found dead when paramedics arrived in a home on St Brigids Crescent, Vauxhall, at 4.25pm on Monday, October 3. Emergency service workers fought to save Ann's life, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Merseyside Police officers attended and cordoned off the scene, from Vauxhall Road to Alderney Road, as an investigation into the incident was launched. Police have since confirmed an investigation was launched and five American bulldogs, which were inside the property, were handed over and have since been humanely destroyed.

Officers also confirmed a 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of owning a dog dangerously out of control and is currently in custody. The victim has been named locally as Ann Dunn, with hundreds of people paying tribute to her on social media.

Carol Gill said: "My lovely friend Ann so glad I got to go to Turkey with you again in July RIP Ann."

Melissa Montgomery said: "Lovely Ann , lovely person, she was. RIP Ann, can’t believe this has happened to you, so heartbreaking. Thinking of Ann’s children and family at this terrible time."

Detective Inspector Katie Coote said: “This is clearly a very distressing incident and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the lady who died. Our enquiries remain ongoing as we seek to establish what has happened and I would urge anyone who could assist our enquiries to get in touch.”
