A popular Midlothian bar have announced they have made the difficult choice to close for good in just a few days time.
Mother's Kitchen and Gin in Penicuik took to social media to share the sad news with locals this week after a number of issues contributed to the decision.
Opening up in the former site of Haig's bar and restaurant a few years ago, the venue had been serving up both cocktails and a wide food selection inside and in their adorable beer garden.

However, staff explained a combination of both the "current financial pressure on hospitality" and a "lack of footfall" had meant they would not continue through the winter.
Confirming their last day of trading will be on Sunday, October 30, staff thanked their customers for their support, and issued hopes that they may be able to reopen in a new location in the future.
Speaking on social media, the bar said: "It comes with great sadness that we have made the decision to close our doors for the final time on Sunday 30th October.

"This is not a decision that we wanted to make but due to the current financial pressure on hospitality and lack of footfall in the area it is not viable for us to continue trading.
"We will be running offers all this week till we close on Sunday and we hope to see you all for one last time to enjoy our food and cocktails.
"It has been an absolute pleasure to serve you all and make some new friends along the way.
"This is not goodbye it’s just see you later until we relocate and start a new chapter."
