Love Island villa rocked by text message drama as one couple call it quits

Love Island 2023 airs all kinds of chaos on Tuesday night, from a possible dumping after a worrying text message, to one couple ruling out a romance.

Just as two Islanders decide they are better off as friends, and one girl decides to set her sights on a taken man, the villa residents receive a text message that changes everything.

It's been revealed that after pairing up in the last recoupling, Kai Fagan and Anna-May Robey decide not to pursue a romance.

The pair, who had grown close recently after some in-depth chats, mutually agree they want to be friends, and not lovers.

Perhaps this will pave the way for Kai to reunite with Tanyel Revan, after they drifted apart before deciding to not rule out a romance.

But the real drama begins when one Islander receives a text, leaving everyone shocked.

Some time later another text message arises and causes panic across the villa, while the show is remaining tight-lipped on what the messages say.

It seems likely that, given they are gathered at the fire pit and there was a public vote on Monday night, a dumping is looming.

If past series are anything to go by, the first text will ask the Islanders to gather by the fire pit - which the latest first-look teaser has proven to be the case.

The second message that leaves the Islanders reeling will probably be news of a dumping, while viewers will have to tune in on Tuesday night to see what happens.

It comes after the news that Haris Namani has apparently left the villa, with it reportedly linked to a dumping that has already taken place.

While there is no mention of a dumping from ITV, the end of Monday's episodes revealed a public vote was about to take place.

Iain Stirling asked viewers to pick their favourite Islanders, before revealing the girl and boy with the fewest votes risked being dumped from the island.

Normally, this results in a fire pit gathering with Islanders sent packing, so while ITV have not mentioned any exits it's likely this is what will happen.

Haris will reportedly leave in this dumping in scenes to air on either Tuesday night or Wednesday night, depending if they go for a classic cliffhanger.

Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
