Love Island viewers noticed a worrying sign as the first couple got together.
Merseyside contestant Tanya Manhenga was the first lucky islander up to the mark to decide who she wanted to couple up with. In line with tradition, the contestants have to decide who they think they will get on well with based on nothing but a first impression and their physical appearance.
The show's new host, Maya Jama, asked the boys to step forward if they were interested in Tanya in order to help make her decision on who to choose a little easier. The results didn't go down well with viewers who instantly called out a worrying trend.

Despite being called "unreal" by multiple men, only one person stepped forward to show their interest - Shaq.
Shaq being the only one stepping forward sent alarm bells ringing as one fan said: "Y’all looks like we’re gonna have another year of guys that don’t like black girls. How can you say Tanya looks unreal then not step forward for her…"
Another added: "They are down for anything at this point.. well anything apart from the stunning black girl." A third said: "Black girls on love island deserve to be loved." A final added: "This show and pushing stereotypes. Always one black girl that finds nobody after her except that only other black boy in the house."
The Liverpool Echo has contacted ITV for a statement.
