Move over Chris Hughes, there is a new 'awkward Love Island rap' moment.
The latest Love Island bombshells Jay Younger and Remi Lambert got to know their new housemates at the start of Wednesday night's episode, with model Remi treating the villa to a little rap.
Alongside being a clothes horse, the Manchester hunk, 22, is keen to pursue a music career - with some historic performances causing some controversy earlier this week.
After belting out a rhyme sat around the firepit within minutes of entering the villa, Remi's rap divided viewers watching at home - with Luca Bish also seemingly very unimpressed and giving some awkward side-eye to his fellow islanders.
After being asked to 'spit some bars' from the boys, Remi rapped: "You don't get a second chance at life, that's why I put my hustle first.
"Trying to better myself, under construction in the works. Working on personal development, finding you freedom is one of the perks.
"LUCAS FACE AFTER THAT RAP IM SCREAMINGGGGGG," one viewer took to Twitter share as the show aired, with another adding: "Nahhh I’m screaming look at Lucas face while remi raps."
A third penned: "Lucas face is me watching Remi rap God man you should have kept quiet #loveIsland."
Remi's rap reminded many Love Island viewers of Chris Hughes in the villa back in 2017 and his iconic line "Want me to rap anyone? Lift the mood a little bit?"
"chris hughes would be proud of remi’s rap #loveisland," one fan took to Twitter to suggest, with another sharing a snap of Chris and his pal Kem Cetinay, stating: "The only people allowed to rap in the villa end of #loveisland @KemCetinay @chrishughes_22."
Another fan declared: "these men really think they can rap on love island… your not Chris and Ken mate #loveisland."
Before entering the villa, Remi featured in a number of rap videos in which derogatory terms towards women are used.
In a track called Superhero, posted in December 2020, Remi raps: "Broke her pum pum, it needs a cast."
While in Mr Grey, posted in October 2020, he compares himself to the famous Fifty Shades character Christian Grey.
"Unless we’re talking Fifty Shades, I don’t do strings attached," he raps.
The reality TV newbie adds: "Blow her back out, climax, then blackout. Hit her raw smackdown then she want to tap out."
After some criticism during Remi's stay in the villa, a source close to the Love Island contestant said: "I don’t necessarily agree with how women are described in rap music in general.
"However of course Remi does not condone violence against women. There’s no malicious intent here at all.
"He would be upset at the suggestion and we hope people see the real him on Love Island."
Prior to entering the Love Island villa, contestants are trained on using acceptable language and behaviour as part of the ITV2 dating show’s duty of care protocols.
Ade Rawcliffe, Group Director of Diversity and Inclusion at ITV, said: "The world we live in is changing every day, and we want all of our Islanders to feel they are part of an inclusive environment in the Villa.
"As part of our duty of care process, it is also important we play our part in educating our participants to understand and empathise with different perspectives and lived experiences."
