Love Island viewers have pointed out the disgusting habit the boys have gotten themselves into this series.
On Monday night, the brand new Winter series began introducing 10 Islanders and a fresh new host, Maya Jama, who is already making a lasting impression with viewers.
However, fans are all making the same complaint about this series and it’s the boys referring to the women as “birds.”
They expressed their frustration at the derogatory term on Twitter. One viewer wrote: “Enough with the ‘bird’ thing already!” as a second agreed: “’Birds’ ew, ick, get away.”
While a third added: “Again with this word 'bird' is it that hard to call them girls or women??"
It’s also not only thing fans have picked up on about the boy’s behaviour, after Harris revealed his ridiculous dating requirement that women have to have small feet, which excluded bombshell presenter Maya whose feet come in at a size six and a half.
As the men chatted about what turns them off, Harris revealed: “Big feet. Anything over a size 5.”
After just two episodes, the boy’s behaviour is concerning viewers after season 8 of the ITV2 dating show received extensive backlash for men’s treatment of women on the show.
Last year, Ofcom was hit with over 3,500 complaints as fans fumed about the misogynistic behaviour of certain men such as Luca’s controlling behaviour of Gemma in Casa Amour.
While other viewers accused Dami and several of the other Islanders for bullying Tasha Ghouri who was partnered with Andrew.
Despite the worrying warning signs, fans are also loving Maya as the new host of the show and calling for her to have more airtime.
One wrote: “Can we have a Love Island where there's no contestants, just an hour of Maya Jama being Maya Jama please.”
As another added when Maya was missing from Tuesday night’s episode: “This is so boring, where's Maya Jama.”
A third agreed: “Where was Maya Jama tonight? I missed her.”
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Maya is in talks to “sign a multi-year deal” after her successful debut as presenter on the prime reality show.
