Love Island viewers in meltdown as Ikenna walks into villa in 'mortifying' footwear

Love Island hunk Ikenna Ekwonna sent ITV2 viewers into meltdown as the iconic dating show made it's 2022 comeback tonight.

The handsome 23-year-old had viewers 'drooling' when he first appeared on screen after insisting that he doesn't need to work hard when it comes to the ladies, because they are always the ones to make the first moves due to his dashing looks and charm.

However, as Ikenna made his way into the villa in order to discover who the British public had paired him with, eagle-eyed viewers were left in disbelief when they discovered the handsome Islander's choice of footwear.

As Love Island host Laura Whitmore introduced Ikenna to the girls - Gemma, Indiyah, Amber, Paige, and Tasha - viewers took to Twitter to mock Ikenna's crocs.

"Never has the disparity between men and women been more apparent than the girls in 4 inch heels and a guy wearing crocs," one viewer tweeted.

"The only way Ikenna can live this down is if Crocs gives him a brand deal," another mocked.

Another viewer back Ikenna's choice of footwear when they tweeted: "Fair play to the Love Islander who came out wearing nothing but a pair of shorts and black Crocs. You can be young, wealthy, charming and still rock your comfy Crocs."

Someone else joked: "I dunno who else needs to hear this but crocs are not a love island debut shoe."

Ikenna is hoping to bring a lot to the villa including his outgoing personality: “Hopefully, I’m going to bring spontaneity and excitement.

Love Island continues tomorrow at 9PM on ITV2.
