Love Island viewers accuse stars of over-reaction to 'emotional' dumping

Love Island viewers have accused the show's stars of over-egging the departure of two of the contestants on the ITV2 show tonight (January 25). During yesterday’s episode of the ITV2 series, it was revealed that six contestants were up for elimination in a public vote – Anna-May Robey, Tanya Mahenga, Tanyel Revan, Tom Clare, Haris Namani and Kai Fagan.

In a brutal twist, it was revealed that Aaron Waters and Jessie Wynter – two former Love Island Australia competitors who recently entered as bombshells – would have to decide which two people would be dumped from the villa. The two islanders that the duo eliminated were Anna-May and Haris.

In the tense scenes, Jessie whispered: “Love you guys” before walking across the garden with Aaron to make their decision. She admitted her nerves before Aaron assured her: “So am I, I’ve got no idea, I don’t even know where to start.”

Aaron and Jessie struggled to make their decision when talking about one of the boys as Jessie admitted one of the three on the chopping block was one of her best friends in the villa. Aaron replied: “I know, I actually like all of the guys, but you can’t think like that.”

Jessie said: “Ok, let’s break this down” as Aaron finally asked her: “What’s your decision?”

The moment their names were said, the atmosphere was extremely emotional as the islanders say their goodbyes.

However, fans were left confused by the overly emotional feeling in the villa after the two unlucky islanders were dumped. Viewers claimed that the stars were over-reacting to the whole situation.

One viewer said : "I'll never understand how emotional they all get when people leave in love island."

Another fan joked: "I missed last night's episode but I must have missed 5 weeks because why are they acting like they're dying instead of leaving?"

Another watched tweeted: "Friends for life? You've been there for 6 days mate relax."
