Love Island star Tanya Manhenga is adamant that her fame after appearing on the reality dating show will not derail her career plans.
The 23-year-old finished in fourth place alongside beau Shaq Muhammad as they reached the final of the hugely popular ITV2 show after spending eight weeks in the South African sunshine.
Tanya, who is a biomedical science student, is determined not to let her success get in the way of her studies as she aims to complete her degree at the University of Salford.
Tanya announced her decision during an Instagram Q&A when a fan asked if she was going to drop her studies now she has found fame.
She replied: "I'm definitely going to finish... I don't start things and don't finish them."
Tanya insisted that the couple will not rush into moving in with one another but admitted she is "definitely thinking" about swapping Liverpool for London in the future.
The Love Island finalist said: "We really want to take our time with that step because it means a lot to me and him. But if I have to be closer to him I'll go to London or he'll come to Liverpool."
She also said the pair were planning "holidays, chill days and having fun together." Tanya added: "We are like kids when we are together, we have so much fun! I want to continue that."
On Sunday, the Love Island reunion show got off to an explosive start as Shaq confronted Martin Akinola over the degrading comments he made about Tanya on a recent podcast.
The couple joined host Maya Jama at the reunion to discuss their first week out of the villa.
Maya then invited Martin onto the sofa to look back over the trio's love triangle.
Things got heated as Shaq slammed Martin for the 'disgusting' comments he made about Tanya during an appearance on the Reality podcast.
Shaq suggested Martin had degraded Tanya with his comments after he claimed he would be "f***ing your girls".
Speaking on the podcast, Martin claims he told Shaq: "On the outside out I would be f***ing your girls in ways you can't imagine."
During the Love Island reunion, Martin insisted his comments had been taken out of context.
Maya was forced to jump in and stop the heated discussion as she said they could discuss the situation further after the show.
