Love Island star Sammy James has slammed the bosses, claiming she and the other Casa Amor girls were ‘edited’ to look like ‘mean girls’ in the South African villa.
The Casa Amor bombshell, 27, hit out at producers in an Instagram Q&A after she exited the ITV2 reality show last week amid a dramatic recoupling, presided over by new host Maya Jama.
Sammy was one of the nine Love Island stars axed in the most brutal dumping ever to take place on the show, after the two rival villas merged again.
Sammy has now addressed her time on the show, answering questions from fans on the process, including whether she was surprised by life in the villa.
She revealed: “Omg yes! Just how highly produced and edited the show is. I mean I wasn't naive going in, I'm a switched on girl.
“I knew this was the case but I guess you never fully understand until you see yourself. Unfortunately I can't talk about this until my contract ends after June. Just take everything with a pinch of salt when watching.”
Another fan then asked: “Why were the Casa girls so nasty about the OG girls?”
Sammy hit back at the label, saying: “No one was nasty. In fact we all spoke highly about the OG girls but it was all edited out so we came across like mean girls.”
Sammy then addressed rumours that the pairing of Will Young and Layla Al-Momani was a set-up, after their kiss prompted Jessie Winter to repeatedly dissolve into tears upon her return to the main villa.
Sammy told her followers: “Will kept pulling Layla for chats and kissed her first. It looks like her conversations were edited more than anyone else's so she's being portrayed as the 'villain' when in fact she' is the most genuine, purest girl out of us all.
“It's an absolute privilege to know her, I know she's going to be a friend for life.”
It comes after dumped Love Island star Spencer Wilks has slammed ITV producers, claiming that he was 'edited out' of the series, as most of his chats with other Islanders were 'cut out'.
The 24-year-old had high hopes of finding love in the villa, however, his stint was cut short after he was left single in a brutal recoupling.
Taking to Instagram to lift the lid on his Love Island experience, Spencer enjoyed a candid Q&A session with fans as they quizzed him about the villa.
In response to one comment which asked if there was any moment he wished was shown on TV, Spencer said that producers cut him out of the show and edited out his chats with the girls.
Spencer also claimed that his personality didn't get a chance to shine through in the series.
"There is so much I wish they showed," he said. "I haven’t watched it back but I know they didn’t show much of me and my personality, they never showed me making the girls laugh or the jokes I’d make.
"I also made coffees every morning for Liv and sometimes for Tanyel and Samie."
