Laura Anderson reveals both her mum and friends love her new boyfriend Gary Lucy after meeting on Celebs Go Dating.
The Scots Love Island star has found love again on the E4 dating show after splitting with Dane Bowers earlier this year. Laura, 33, is head over heels for her new man and buzzed over her family and friends positive reaction to her new beau.
Speaking to OK!, Laura gushed over her new man: "My mum fancies him! And my friends are obsessed. One of them messaged me the other day and she’s like, ‘Can you believe we used to watch Footballers’ Wives and you’re now dating Gary Lucy, how does that feel?’
“And I’m like, ‘Shut up!’ I don’t think about it like that. But then I was looking at him on a date and I was like, ‘It’s weird that I know your face. You’re like a celebrity.’ It’s like you would recognise them anywhere because you’ve just seen them so much.
“I was like, ‘It’s weird that I already know your face so much just from seeing pictures over time or whatever.’ I was like, ‘This is weird.’ I don’t think he really knew anything about me. He said he knew I was on Love Island and that’s about it.”
Both Gary and Laura signed up for Celebs Go Dating, a show which sees the stars attempt to find love with someone out of the spotlight, before falling for one another. Father of four Gary previously admitted he found it hard to begin new romances after his divorce four years ago.
But after a string of failed dates on the reality show Gary, 41, says that Laura was “pretty much everything that I’d go for”.
She gushed: “He makes me feel comfortable and he makes me feel quite adored and protected, which is really nice. He’s a gentleman.
“I really like that he’s got four kids, because his kids are so cute and they’re his world. He sends me videos and pictures of them and I just think that’s so attractive. He’s a really good kisser too, which is always good!”
Before splitting from Dane, Laura had undergone IVF treatment as the couple were planning to have a baby.
Laura moved back to the UK in August after they split up once again, and ended up homeless for a number of weeks, before she moved into a pad in Glasgow West End, where she currently lives with her little pooch Buddy.
