Love Island star Jessie's mum hits back at critics who questioned her motives with Will

Love Island star Jessie Wynter’s mum has clapped back at critics who questioned her daughter’s motives when it came to boyfriend Will Young.

The Aussie bombshell raised eyebrows from viewers when she came into the villa and appeared to have an ‘instant connection' with the farmer. Eagle-eyed Love Island fans believed the 26-year-old made a beeline for the TikTok star, branding her fake and convinced she was 'playing a game'.

During tonight’s episode the final five couples are surprised by their families and Jessie is emotional as she reunites with her sister and mum, and it was clear her mum had a lot to say about the public's views.

Getting teary over her daughter’s relationship, mum Alice tells her: “We love him, we all love him, Dad adores him.”

After Will invites Jessie and her family over to the fire pit so they can meet his dad Andrew and brother Tom, she tells them: “It’s so lovely to see you guys here, from the bottom of my heart, it’s so lovely to see you two.

“I’ve watched you support her and love her, you’ve got our hearts too and her dad’s ready for the two of you to get married.”

Even before the meeting, Jessie's mum Alice had thrown her full support behind the couple, rubbishing accusations the connection was fake.

Speaking to the MailOnline, Alice said: “That’s definitely my little Jessie on the TV. Jessie doesn’t know how to be anyone else but herself. I really love it when her inner Aussie shines through.”

Jessie and Will took a big step in their relationship on Friday before being told they were at risk of being dumped from the villa.

During their final date Jessie took the opportunity to reflect on her journey telling him: “I’ve had the best time here with you, I didn’t think I’d meet someone that I’d fall in love with so hard.

“You’ve been so supportive of me the whole way through, I want you to know how special you are to me.”

"I want you to be my boyfriend," she added as Will replied: "I think I'm going to cry."

Later, back at the villa, Jessie told the other girls that she wanted to make Will "feel loved" by asking him to be her boyfriend.

Tonight’s episode will see the pair up for eviction after the remaining five couples were asked to vote for the duo they felt were the least compatible. The shock twist means the pairs with the most votes are vulnerable - Jessie and Will, Lana and Ron, Sanam and Kai – and at risk of being dumped before the final.

*Love Island airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
