Love Island fans have reported signs of 'bullying' behaviour to Ofcom after claims that contestant Scott van der Sluis is being bullied.
The broadcasting regulator received almost 1,000 complaints after Scott clashed with fellow Islanders in a recent episode. Following the Movie Night drama and the recent Casa Amor drama, Scott, 22 found himself engulfed in scandal after Catherine Agbaje came back from Casa with a new man.
As he watched Catherine move on with her new love interest, the footballer found himself embroiled in even more drama after Movie Night became heated.
The drama started as a clip from Casa Amor week saw him cheekily admit that he 'won't miss' Catherine once the new girls arrive. Scott had reassured that he had stayed loyal throughout his time in the other villa, however, things took a turn when the Dublin-born islander viewed himself making the comment.
As Catherine's fury heightened, Leah Taylor suggested that Scott was only single at the Casa Amor recoupling because 'no one wanted him'– before Scott immediately hit back at her cruel comments.
Scott slammed Leah savagely telling her it was the first time he had heard her 'speak in four weeks' as he called out the blonde beauty in the ongoing row.
Following the Island feud, 957 complaints were made to Ofcom after viewers found Leah's comments 'overly harsh' and felt as though Scott was being 'ganged up on' in the villa after Catherine turned her back on him in Casa Amor.
As the season continues, Scott seemingly becomes hurt by the actions of the other Islanders – especially Leah and Catherine, who viewers claimed 'had it in for Scott'.
Taking to Twitter at the time, one user wrote: "Not going to lie, I couldn't watch tonight's episode because I can't stand bullies and Catherine and her sidekicks are indeed bullying Scott right now."
"Not Scott who is the nicest boy in the villa being BULLIED right in front of our eyes," another fumed.
"Catherine and Leah both need to leave the villa!!! They are so cruel and mean to Scott. Everyone seems to forget that he was left on his own when she came back from Casa Amor," someone else insisted.
"I’m calling Ofcom over the Scott’s bullying it’s too much," another threatened.
Further complaints shedding light on bullying have been issued on social media, with Love Island viewers pleading with producers to step in and take action over some of the other islander's treatment of Scott.
