Love Island's Tasha Ghouri wears bespoke clothing made by Northern Ireland woman

A Northern Ireland woman who launched a business from her home, has spoken of her delight after spotting her clothing brand on this year's season of Love Island.

Brooke Andrews started B The Label, in lockdown after making her own birthday outfit which she then turned into a product and began to sell. Posting the handmade design on Tiktok, the 24-year-old's video was seen by 1.4million people online, with endless queries about where to get the it.

From here, the Dundonald entrepreneur launched the business and has been growing from strength to strength - but a highlight of her career was seeing a Love Island star wearing her brand on this year's series.

Tasha Ghouri wore the B The Label birthday suit wrap top and v waist maxi to the 'blue party' in the show. Brooke told Belfast Live that she was over the moon when she saw it.

"I always had the idea and dream of having my own business in the lane I’m in but wouldn’t have guessed it would start this way," she said.

"I’ve always had the passion to design outfits and made formal dresses whilst in school so it’s genuinely amazing it kick started this way authentically. I work hard to design all my products myself with the help from my mum from home and how it’s expanded in the year I’ve had it is something I still find hard to believe.

"It really started as a hobby at home with my mum and it’s now grown into a business that I ship worldwide. I felt so grateful seeing my design on Tasha on Love Island especially as the piece she wore was my first ever creation of B The Label. It was my original birthday outfit that started it off for my business.

"Tasha looked amazing in it. I was so overwhelmed with love from my friends hyping me up that my piece was on Love Island that it was genuinely a moment I felt I had to really keep."

Brooke's business has close to 30,000 followers on Instagram, and her outfits are shipped across the world. Watching as she continues to expand, the young businesswoman thanked those who have supported her along the way.

She added: "To anyone supporting a local brand, you really don’t know how much it means and how much hard work and love goes into it.

"There’s a lot of well known fast fashion brands but it’s just amazing to think my customers choose to shop my handmade in house items that I design myself when these brands do exist.

"It’s also an amazing way forward for fashion as we all know there is a growing popularity of handmade local businesses - it’s such a positive change which I have learnt myself along the way of creating my brand ethically and in the best way possible moving forward."
