Paige Thorne has vowed to return to her job as a paramedic when Love Island finishes.
The paramedic, who hails from Swansea, Wales, insists she will be back on the frontline after the ITV2 show - which kicks off next Monday June 6 at 9pm - despite hinting she has angered her bosses by deciding to quit just weeks before the show.
Before the show, Paige worked through the Covid pandemic as a paramedic, but only gave her bosses three weeks notice that she was going to leave to appear on the show this summer, appearing to suggest her move had annoyed them.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, she said: "Absolutely, I will one thousand per cent go back to being a paramedic. I absolutely love my job. It gives me everything I want from a job. I'm too much of a people's person to not go back to something like that."
However, Paige admits she didn't give them enough notice and left things "all up in the air".
Asked if she told her bosses in advance, she said: "Not in advance, probably nowhere near enough time as I should have given them but because you don't find out until really close to the time if you get it.
"I didn't want to risk my chances and start saying stuff beforehand. I think I gave them like three weeks' notice and it just left it all up in the air because I didn't give enough time."
Paige, however, insists her paramedic background will help her keep calm under the pressure in the villa.
"I definitely will not be giving free mouth to mouths to anyone that's for sure, but the skills as a paramedic are keeping calm under pressure," she said, "I'm very good at that. But playing it cool under pressure, I don't know if I'm very good at that. You'll have to see."
Whatever happens, Paige is game to find love this summer and hopes it'll be with a Channing Tatum lookalike.
Asked who her celebrity crush is, she listed the Magic Mike star as her ideal man. She also said she liked men who were chivalrous and a real gentleman, as she opened up about her ideal type on paper.
*Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 6th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
