Mitch Taylor has come under fire from irate Love Island fans over his treatment of Molly Marsh, with an 'overheard' remark about her sparking an angry reaction online.
Mitch and Molly were paired up by the public on day one, after the show decided to leave the first coupling up in viewers' hands for the second successive series, with things starting off well between then. A huge spanner was thrown in the works by the arrival of bombshell Zach Noble, with him choosing to 'steal' Molly from Mitch, after being told by host Maya Jama to choose a girl after his first day in the villa.
The drama continued on Wednesday's Love Island, when fans accused some of the girls of 'bullying' Molly, after Mitch told the boys he coupled up with her to keep Molly in the show 'for Zach,' only to then reveal to her he wanted to pursue things with her 'under the radar.'
After Molly told him directly that it was Zach she was interested in, Mitch looked disheartened And, while claiming to still care about her, Mitch then had a dig at his former love interest out of her ear shot, during the latest challenge. The Islanders were tasked with teaming up to burst balloons, before having to carry out the task on the cards inside.
Jess Harding was told to kiss the Islander she thought was most two faced on her cheek, heading over and kissing Tyrique Hyde twice. As she sat back down, Ella Thomas told her she 'should have picked Molly.' Jess sad she decided against doing that as she 'didn't want to be nasty,' but then Mitch was pocked up camera muttering 'you should have done.'
His reaction set alarm balls ringing for plenty of Love Island viewers at home, some of whom had already raised concerns about his behaviour towards Molly. Taking to Twitter, one responded: "He claims to care about Molly but wanted Jess to pick her as ‘most two-faced’ in the game."
A second tweeted: "Mitch telling jess he should have kissed Molly on the cheek during that game was srsly (sic) weird. Do you like the girl or not. What a child," with another posting: "Mitch telling Jess she should Of picked Molly in the game reeks of BITTER"
