Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore has decided to leave her role on BBC Radio 5 Live as she sets her sights on more work in the television industry.
The presenter, 37, took over the Love Island role in 2020 after Caroline Flack announced she would be stepping down from the job to "not detract attention from the upcoming series" after being arrested. Prior to taking over the reins, Laura had a primetime slot on BBC Radio 5 Live after joining the network in 2018 and after four years, she's preparing to branch out and make the most of her newfound fame.
Heidi Dawson, controller of BBC Radio 5 Live confirmed Laura's departure in a statement which read: "Laura has made the difficult decision to leave after a brilliant four years. We'd like to thank her for the energy, insight and humour she has brought to this programme and look forward to working with her again in the near future."
