Love Island's Ikenna in 'better position' after claiming he was earning less than old job

Love Island star Ikenna Ekwonna was earning less than half his previous salary after leaving the dating show.

However, he clarified the comments he made about his earnings were said three months ago when he just exited the Love Island villa.

The Channel 4 documentary series called Life After Love Island explores the reality of life as a Love Island star.

The 23-year-old pharmaceutical sales rep left the villa after 15 days and made £3,000 to £4,000 making content and advertising in the beginning.

It worked out to be 'less than half that what he was earning' what he was a pharmaceutical sale rep.

"You come out thinking, ‘Oh, it’s Love Island. Everyone after Love Island is set,’” he told presenter Will Njobvu. “And coming out of it, you’re like, ‘Where is it?’”

He was asked whether brands have approached him for deals, and Ikenna said 'no'.

Ikenna added: "I have questioned is it me?…. Is it my face? Is it my skin?"

After the documentary was released, Ikenna took to Twitter to clarify he's in a 'better position' now.

"This was filmed 2.5-3 months ago, I haven’t actually watched it yet but in a way better position rn," he told followers.

Casa Amor bombshell Coco Lodge also appeared in the documentary and thought she would have one or two million followers after leaving the show.

"But I came out with 30k followers, I just didn’t really understand, because I was like, ‘why does everyone hate me?’" she confessed.

"You don’t go in there to find love. It’s a bonus if you do, but you go in there because you know what you can get after.”

In July, the star ended up returning to selling drinks in clubs.

Coco previously opened up about whether she regrets going on the ITV2 programme.

"Do you regret going on Love Island ?" a fan asked for her Q&A. "Would you change anything about your time spend on the show?" [sic]

Coco took the opportunity to share her thoughts, replying: "I mean, yes and no. I've had some amazing opportunities since the show and have a platform that I can help inspire your girls which is what I wanted from the show."

She then took a savage swipe at her former co-stars, who include Adam Collard, Gemma Owen and Ekin-Su Culculoglu.

"Anyone who said they went on for Love is a liar,” she savagely wrote.

"As the 'villain' of this season, I've had to deal with a LOT of bulls**t from both the public and the cast and I think some of it is toxic."
