Love Island winner Greg O’Shea, who won the 2019 edition of the British dating game show with Amber Gill, insists he is no longer willing to answer any questions about his love life.
The Irish rugby sevens star, who hails from Limerick, revealed in a Q&A session on Instagram, that he feels he has been taken advantage of.
The star says he therefore will not be giving up any more titbits on his romantic life – with the response coming after he was quizzed about his current relationship status.
He wrote: “I’m just gonna speak on this one last time for clarity. There’s too many questions like this.
“Unfortunately, some recent interviews I kindly agreed to do in recent months were edited wrongly.
"Inaccurate quotes and video clips about my personal life were posted without my permission and out of context, which just really isn’t cool in my opinion.
“I’m disappointed in myself for being so open and honest in my answers and forgetting that all these interviewers want is clickbait. To prevent this happening again in the future I will no longer be answering any questions on my romantic life.”
Greg, who recently split from British influencer Kate Hutchins, went on: “For 11 out of the last 13 years I’ve been in long-term relationships. I have met some incredible people and I’ve learned loads, but for now I think it’s fair enough for me to finally put my time and energy into myself.
“I’ll just see what happens then, but I’ll keep it completely private. I appreciate your support always guys and I’m sorry some interviewers had to ruin the craic for everyone.”
This news comes hot on the heels of co-winner Amber revealing the pair had a “massive bust-up” before the season finale of the fifth series of the hit show.
They were crowned winners, scooping the £50,000 cash prize, but the jubilant scenes masked some bitter tension between them.
“We didn’t want to know each other,” she said. "I was like, 'nah we're not doing this, we're done'.
“It was a lot. We ended up being separated and then we came back together because we did like each other at the time.”
Amber said the couple decided to put their differences aside for the sake of the show. She added: “We were like you know what, there are two days left let’s just get through it, it’ll be good.”
