Love Island's Gemma reveals what could lead to 'game over' for her and Luca

Love Island runner-up Gemma Owen has confessed one thing could lead to the end of her romance with Luca Bish.

The star joked that if he didn't have the approval of her beloved horse Sirius, it would be "game over" for the pair.

Gemma and Luca finished in second place on the ITV2 series on Monday night, as Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti were crowned the winners of the show.

Following the end of the series, Gemma has joked about what would be the ultimate test for their romance now that she and Luca are out of the villa.

She said of her beloved horse: "Luca needs to impress Sirius.

"If Sirius doesn’t like Luca then it’s pretty much game over! You’ve heard a lot about him haven’t you?"

Luca responded: "Yeah. Apparently I’ve got to get in the stables with him straight away and see how I react….to a massive horse! I’m sure I’ll feel fine!"

The pair also discussed how they were feeling about finally meeting each other's families.

Gemma spilled: "I’m not really nervous to meet Luca’s family. I think they all seem absolutely lovely and I’m not nervous for Luca to meet mine because I think they’ll get on and he’ll fit straight in.

"His personality, his banter and what he loves, I think he’ll get on with everyone."

Luca went on: "My family will love her! They’ve already said they love you. My sister, mum and nan, that’s the one I look for as my dad is easy-going.

"They’ve all given their approval. We got a call last night after the final and speaking to your [Gemma’s] family, I got a few moments with them and I am buzzing to meet them in person."

Gemma added how her mother's approval was also crucial for the romance to work, but so far it seems Luca has won them over.

She explained: "If my mum was like ‘absolutely not’ then yeah I think that would be the end of it [laughs].

"I haven’t had a chance to speak to her properly but from the small bits I’ve heard, she’s really happy and likes him."

Love Island: The Reunion airs Sunday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
