Love Island star Gemma Owen is playing a "careful game" when it comes to making Islanders aware of her famous dad, a body language expert has said.
Gemma, 19, entered the villa as one of the show's original Islanders this series and left fans on the edges of their seats wondering when she will reveal her dad is football legend Michael Owen.
Some thought the moment would come in the first episode when she was quizzed by Luca Bish about her surname, but Gemma managed to stay undetected.
Three weeks into her time int he villa and Gemma finally spilled on the identity of her famous father, 42, Thursday 29 June's episode.
Gemma was seen making the confession as she was getting ready for the day alongside Antigoni Buxton and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.
But body language expert Darren Stanton has revealed to the Mirror how Gemma wasn't comfortable spilling on her dad.
Speaking to the Mirror on behalf of Slingo, Darren Stanton revealed: "Gemma is playing a careful game when it comes to making the other islanders aware of her family’s fame."
Meanwhile, her determination to make a name for herself on her own merits could have also made her grow suspicious over fishmonger Luca Bish's intentions.
Fans have seen Gemma and 23-year-old Luca grow closer in recent weeks. But body language expert Darren pointed out that Gemma was still somewhat keeping her options open last week.
He added: "There was a point in the last two weeks where we saw Gemma question why Luca had suddenly become a lot more intense towards her and it seemed to coincide with when he is said to have discovered who she was and who her dad is.
"If this was the case, her concerns could suggest she often has doubts over how genuine people are towards her and the reason why she comes across so guarded and stand-offish."
And it isn't just Luca's reaction to discovering the identity of her footballer dad Michael, as Darren highlighted how the dressage rider looked 'uncomfortable' while being quizzed about her dad by Antigoni and Ekin-Su.
Greek Cypriot singer Antigoni asked the star: "But, like sorry if I'm being ignorant, but is your dad very, very well known?
"He plays for England, right," the blonde added.
Gemma didn't turn around to address Antigoni and just replied with: "Yeah."
Ekin-Su then asked: "Do you like David Beckham's son?"
Giving some more detail, Gemma said: "Well I went to nursery with his sons, yeah."
Body language expert Darren added to the Mirror how Gemma was obviously 'frustrated' by the line of questioning.
He explained: "When she was asked about her dad by the girls, you could sense a degree of frustration from Gemma.
"She didn’t engage with Antigoni’s questioning directly, as she kept her body turned towards the mirror and replied with a one-word answer.
"When pressed by Ekin-Su about the Beckhams, hesitation and frustration both flashed across Gemma’s face - while it only lasted for a fifth of a second, it was clear it is not a topic of conversation she feels comfortable talking about."
