Love Island's Gemma Owen signs six-figure deal with clothing brand

Love Island's Gemma Owen has signed a six-figure deal with clothing brand, PrettyLittleThing (PLT). The 19-year-old runner-up of this year's series was handpicked by the online retail giant following a series of meetings in Manchester this month. The news comes following prior reports that Gemma had signed a six-figure deal with Boohoo. You can read more about that here.

Gemma, the daughter of footballer Michael Owen, follows in the footsteps of previous winner, Molly-Mae Hague and has signed a year-long contract with the fashion brand, reports MailOnline. Since 2021, Molly-Mae has been Creative Director of PrettyLittleThing. She is now estimated to be worth £4.5million.

Following her signing, Gemma told MailOnline: "This really is a dream come true for me." It wouldn't be the first company that she is actively involved in as she also owns swimwear brand, OG Beachwear.

She added: "I wore PrettyLittleThing throughout my time on the show and now being announced as one of their newest ambassadors alongside some incredible talent including Love Island alumni is really special.

"The team has been amazing and I'm excited to get to work and start designing some collections for you all."

PrettyLittleThing CEO Umar Kamani said: "Gemma is the perfect person to represent the PLT consumer; she's smart, confident, ambitious and has a much loved, relatable style.

"We're very excited to have her joining the PLT family and look forward to sharing lots of exciting content, collections, and shoots with our customers."

Gemma's year-long partnership with PLT will see her launch her own collections and create content for the brand's YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok channels. She will also help the brand launch their new platform PLT Marketplace, where customers can resell clothes in a move towards improved sustainability.

During her time in the villa, Gemma was coupled with Brighton fishmonger Luca Bish and following the end of the ITV2 dating show, their relationship has continued to grow from strength to strength. But her father Michael Owen made a brutal dig about him, which you can read about here. The pair, ultimately, lost out to Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti who were crowned this year's winners. For more showbiz and television stories, get our newsletter here.
