Love Island's Gemma Owen has opened up about her dad, football legend Michael Owen, during a chat with Ronan Keating's son Jack. The 19-year-old has rarely spoken about her famous father in the villa but discussed her family dynamics during a chat at Casa Amor.
Jack joined the show as a new Casa Amor bombshell last week. As he got to know Gemma, the pair discussed their love of family as they traded stories about their lives. Gemma said to Jack: "So your dad was in Boyzone?", prompting the new Islander to explain that his dad is currently on tour.
He said: "It's great as you probably know, I've got to do lots of fun things, meet interesting people, I'm blessed you know. Are you close with your mum and dad?"

Gemma responded: "Yeah I'm super close to my dad as well. It's like a love/hate relationship between me and my dad.
"Our personalities are just so similar like we're either getting on like a house on fire or we're clashing."
Following her conversation with Jack, Gemma headed to the Beach Hut where she said she enjoyed speaking about family with Jack and liked that he too was very family-oriented.
Gemma is currently coupled up with Brighton fishmonger Luca Bish but the pair are separated thanks to Casa Amor. The annual Love Island twist sees the original Islanders split between two villas and the introduction of new contestants.
As the Islanders get to know one another they have to decide whether to remain in their original couples or couple up with someone new, without knowing what their partner has chosen to do.
Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
