Love Island star Gemma Owen has revealed that her father, footballer Michael Owen, gets on well with boyfriend Luca Bish. Since leaving the villa in August, the 19-year-old's relationship with Luca, 23, appears to have been going well.
"Luca fits in quite well and he gets on with my siblings, my mum and my dad as well," said Gemma when asked how her relationship is going. Whilst in the villa, viewers were desperate to know how Luca would get on with Gemma's father, whom she remained coy about on the show. Gemma told Luca that he needed to meet her family before they committed to each other because the opinion of her dad and mum, Louise, was very important.
Gemma continued: "His family are lovely too – I get on with all of them really well and have a good relationship with his sister." Gemma and Luca, who currently live apart, still make time for one another. She said: "I really enjoyed spending time in Brighton with them when I can and the same when he comes to Cheshire."

Finishing Love Island as runners-up to Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, the couple's time in the villa was anything but plain sailing. Despite this, at the end of August, the couple finally made their relationship official. Brighton fishmonger Luca sealed the deal by spoiling Gemma with a £6,500 Cartier bracelet, garden of red roses, and a balloon display, which read: 'Will you be my girlfriend?'
August was a busy month for Gemma, who signed a six-figure-deal with fashion brand PrettyLittleThing - something former winner, Molly Mae-Hague also did. She has also hinted that there is a series in the works and told MailOnline : "We do have something very different in the pipeline, which I'm really excited to start working on. I can't reveal too much."
Despite her growing success, Gemma confirmed that she and Luca will not be moving in together anytime soon. She said: "We don't have any plans to move into together just yet. I'm a home girl, it's where everything is, I'm family orientated and I'm still young. In the immediate future I'm happy with where I am, and the set up Luca and I have."
She added: "We are everywhere right now, when I'm down in London working, we spend time with each other and when we have a free weekend, he'll join me in Cheshire and be with the horses. We're making it work around our busy schedules. We're seeing how it goes, we'll go on a few nice holidays – no pressure."
