Love Island star Gemma Owen has hit back at comparisons between herself and former contestant Molly-Mae Hague. It comes after this year's contestant Gemma launched a collection with fashion brand Pretty Little Thing.
Michael Owen's daughter announced she would be the brand's latest ambassador back in August. Molly-Mae, who appeared on the ITV show in 2019, also signed with Pretty Little Thing when she left the Love Island villa.
Manchester Evening News reports the 23-year-old has since become a creative director for the fashion company. When speaking about her edit with PLT, Gemma responded to claims suggesting she's following in Molly-Mae's footsteps.

"I think my style is timeless and in the moment," she said. "I think my edit is mine, it's true to me and what I am." Gemma also told OK! magazine: "I think obviously, I've got a lot of respect for Molly-Mae, and she's an inspiration to a lot of girls. But I think we are completely different people, I like to think I’m unique. I think my style is timeless."
The 19-year-old told the publication that her new edit is "gorgeous" and is "inclusive for everyone". She added: "The edit is very much sort of neutral tones, which I think is quite standard for me! And yeah, it has cream, beige, chocolate, and a few olive colours in there, which is gorgeous.
"So yeah, I think there is definitely something for everyone. I think the sizes go from six to 26. So it's definitely really inclusive and has something for everyone."
She has since been sharing pictures to Instagram of her modelling the range. In one, Gemma could be seen donning a neutral-toned blazer dress with a plunging neckline and tied waist. She completed the look with a pair of thigh-high white boots and matching bag while her long dark locks had been slicked back into a ponytail.
Another showed Gemma looked beautiful in an elegant black mini dress. As she strolled through the picturesque location in a pair of black heels, she clutched onto a black leather jacket and gold-strapped back while also donning a pair of black shades as strange of her hair blew in the wind.
"PRETTYLITTLETHING x GEMMA OWEN My first edit with PLT is now live," she typed alongside the images to her millions of followers. "I hope you love it as much as I do. This is just the beginning and I can’t wait to bring you all on this journey with me @prettylittlething."
Her Love Island beau Luca Bish simply replied: "Finally," with a red heart while her former co-stars also shared their praise. Tasha Ghouri said: "Congrats angel!" While Indiyah Polack wrote: "Congratulations!!" alongside a string of pink hearts. And fans were already loving the collection.
