Gemma Owen shot to fame on the 2022 series of Love Island, where she came second with her former partner Luca Bish and has now shared her sadness over the death of her horse Siz. As well as having her own swimwear line and Pretty Little Thing deal Gemma is also a professional showjumper, competing with Siz.
Posting a montage of images and videos with Siz on Instagram, Gemma explained that his death was unexpected. She said: "On Friday we lost my horse of a lifetime due to a sudden and severe illness. Words can't describe how much this horse meant to me and my family, he was truly one in a million."
The Love Island star, who grew up near Mold in North Wales, went on to say she was "heartbroken" by the loss. She said: "He was taken far too soon, he has left us all heartbroken and in complete shock. You taught me so much siz and I will never be able to thank you enough, you brought so much joy and happiness to our lives and you'll never be replaced. I love you endlessly".

Many fellow Love Island stars offered comments of support on the post. Molly-Mae Hague, who recently gave birth to her first baby, said: "Gemma I'm so sorry, this is beyond heartbreaking. Lucinda Strafford, who appeared in series seven of Love Island, said: "I am so sorry angel for your loss, sending lots of love" followed by a sad face and pink love heart emoji. In November 2022 Gemma announced her split from Luca, after just three months together.
Luca was never able to make Gemma his girlfriend in the villa, as she insisted he met her family which includes her star footballer Dad Michael Owen before they became official. Both Luca and Gemma announced their split on their Instagrams.
