Love Island's Gemma Owen admits Luca Bish had 'intense' meeting with dad Michael

Gemma Owen has admitted that Luca Bish's first meeting with her famous dad Michael was rather 'intense', after also opening up on the status of their relationship outside the Love Island villa.

Gemma was most definitely the contestant who attracted the most attention as soon as the line-up for the latest series of the ITV dating show was confirmed a few months ago and her and Brighton fishmonger Luca became an item within the first week, going onto finish in second place, despite a few bumps in the road.

Much was made during the Love Island final and again in the reunion special that Gemma and Luca weren't girlfriend and boyfriend, unlike other couples in the villa like Andrew and Tasha and Dami and Indiyah and, while Gemma has confirmed they still aren't quite there yet, she has con firmed things are going 'really well.'

Speaking in a YouTube video, the 19-year-old said: "There's a lot of questions on: 'Oh are you two official yet?'. Whenever we do an interview that seems to be the most talked about topic."

She then clarified: "We're not yet. I feel like there's been a bit of a build up now, people are like: 'When is it gonna be? When is it gonna be?' I feel like he's got a bit of pressure on him like: 'S**t I need to make something good out of this'.

"But, it's definitely on the cards and I think it will definitely be really soon so really excited for that."

Luca also hit the headlines after Gemma confirmed he'd met her football icon dad Michael on a family holiday and elaborating on how things went with that, Gemma added: ""We went to Portugal for four days and he met my dad and family friends and that was amazing.

"That was honestly so nice. For the first meeting it was a quite intense environment... 'You're meeting my dad, let's do it on holiday'. But it couldn't have gone better. They seem to get on really well. It was all really good."
