Love Island’s Faye Winter sparks concern after finding lump in her breast

Love Island star Faye Winter revealed she found a lump in her breast during a recent holiday and is now undergoing tests to ensure it’s “nothing sinister”.

The 27-year-old, who rose to fame on the ITV dating reality series where she was partnered with Teddy Soares, took to her Instagram stories on Wednesday to inform her followers about her health.

Winter said: “I know that a lot of you have noticed that I have been quite quiet on here, especially since my girls’ holiday when you guys were like, ‘where’s all of your content, like why are you not letting us in on it?’

“I didn’t want to let anyone in too soon, I didn’t feel like there was a right time to speak to you guys, but I feel like today is probably the day for it.

“If one person has a check today then I will be so happy, because I am going down for my breast care service two week wait triple assessment.”

She continued: “While I was on holiday with my incredible girlies, who I love so much, I was putting [on] my sun cream and I went ‘Oop, what is she, she is new to my body’ and I found a little lump.

Later in the day, Winter returned to social media to thank her followers for their support (Instagram/Faye Winter)

“So, I went to my doctors two weeks ago and they referred me and I’m going today, and I’m going to have a mammogram and an ultrasound and make sure everything’s okay and make sure it’s nothing sinister.

“I’m sure it probably isn’t, it’s probably just a cyst or something but it is one of those things that has played on my mind.

“I haven’t really been able to get it out of my mind which is fine, so there’s one thing I’m going to ask you guys to do today, it’s just to have a little check.”

The reality TV star went on to praise the NHS for their support and urged her social media followers to check themselves regularly, insisting, “if there’s anything you’re worried about, make sure you check out with your local GP.”

Later in the day, Winter shared a selfie outside her local Breast Care Unit, and thanked her followers for their outpouring of support.

She shared: “Thank you for all the support today! I’m going back to hospital on Thursday, will keep you all updated.”

Winter recently returned from a girls’ holiday to Crete alongside her Love Island co-stars Liberty Poole, Sharon Gaffka, Abigail Louise Rawlings and Kaz Kamwi.

For this summer’s series of Love Island, ITV has teamed up with breast cancer charity CoppaFeel! to encourage contestants to regularly check their chests.
